    Determining Puppet Rank

Puppet Rank is determined through several variables, and ultimately decides how many strings the puppet will take to control. Factors like weapon strength, number of weapons, puppet size and puppet build should all be taken into consideration when attempting to rank a puppet. Just like other rankable skills and items, members are free to attempt ranking anything themselves, but ultimately, it will be up to a staff member's discretion during the approval process, as to what the final rank of a puppet will be.

    Controlling Multiple Puppets

A puppeteer with only a single puppet beneath their belt is a one tricky pony, but how do we calculate whether someone is Kankuro's level, able to control three puppets at a time, or Chiyo's, jumping into battle with a full ten at her disposal? All puppeteers can create ten strings max, at any given time. Using that information, the chart below can be used further to determining the ability of individual puppeteers, depending on their mastery over the Puppetry specialty.

Using the Ten Puppets of Chikamatsu as an example; the individual puppets themselves are no more then C ranked puppets, given they only have one weapon or function each. Because Chiyo is an S ranked nin, she has not problem controlling them all at once, each with only a single finger.

To avoid overpowered puppet combinations, we get to the use of Secret Techniques. While a puppeteer is easily capable of controlling the amount of puppets listed above, they need to use secret techniques in order to be able to use them in conjunction. Using the Ten Puppets of Chikamatsu as an example once more, while we've established that the puppets are C rank, and thus Chiyo is able to control them only using a single string each, given her S rank capabilities, she cannot use them in any sort of tandem or cooperative style without the use of a secret technique. Thankfully, she knows the White Secret Technique, an S ranked jutsu, and is thus capable once more.

Puppeteer's are UNABLE to learn Ninjutsu past an Adept level.
Puppeteer's are UNABLE to learn Medical past a Novice level.
